Pro-Vaccination Photoshoot

Get Vaccinated. It’s Free. It’s Safe. It’s Vital.

It’s no secret that folks are apprehensive about vaccination. I get it. I really do. It can be scary, especially when so much of science is so far out of us laymen’s understanding. So I empathize. I really do. However, it’s all of our civic duty to get vaccinated and get vaccinated soon. With that in mind, I wanted to do a pro-vaccine photoshoot series that sort of mimicked some of the most popular public advocacy campaigns of the last century. So I settled on two: The Rosie the Riveter “We Can Do This” and PETA’s “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” campaigns. There isn’t much I can do to contribute to public health, as a measly photographer with no great science background, but I’m doing what I can.

We Can Do This:

I really liked this idea. Our great grandmothers built the machines that our great grandfathers used to destroy fascism. It’s up to us to continue that legacy of brave, stoic, committed Americans. It’s up to us to take up the mantle of service and bravery that they did. We have the unique opportunity to utilize the mind-blowing advancements in medicine to destroy a pandemic that has taken the lives of so many of our fellow Americans. So get your vaccine. Help us defeat this disease. CLICK HERE to learn all about how you can get your vaccination in Oregon.

I’d Rather go Naked than Unvaccinated:

This part is inspired by the classic PETA ad campaign “I’d rather go naked than wear fur.” I always loved that campaign, because it had such longevity and such an impact on folks. So I figured this riff could do something similar. If you wanna be a badass like these ladies here, definitely get your vaccine. It’s free, it’s safe, and it’s gonna help us get rid of the dangerous variants of covid that are rapidly starting to spread.

Get Vaccinated.
