Too. Much. Labour.

How amazing is that new Paris Paloma song “Labour.”

I’ve been playing it on repeat since it was released. And I had an amazing idea for a photoshoot based around it!

The Idea:

Basically, I wanna go out into the Oregon Badlands Wilderness and have folks represent the different personas in the song, and start out the shoot “in uniform” then switch to a deconstructed version of that identity.

So for instance, the nurse identity would start in scrubs, then end in a bloody sheet or something like that! We can workshop that together!

Then we’ll end with individual and group shots either implied nude, or in drapery, or fully nude (whatever your comfort level is) staring off into the sunset, with a defiant look.

I think if we pull this off correctly, it could be a really beautiful, poignant, impactful piece that would be really neat!

We Need Models:

We’ll need several ladies willing to model to pull this off, probably in the 10-12 person ballpark. Ideally we’ll have someone to represent each of the identities mentioned in the chorus which are: Therapist, Mother, Maid, Nymph, Virgin, Nurse, Servent, 24/7 Baby Machine. However, if we can’t get someone from each, that’s totally fine! The intent is to match the empowerment & rage vibe, rather than do an exact interpretation!

So what would modeling for this entail? Well, first off, you don’t have to have any experience or knowledge. It’s my job to worry about helping you pose, helping you know what to do with your hands, etc., so you don’t have to worry about that.

I would require everyone to sign an Image Release form, meaning we can use your images in this project.

Cost will be $250 per person, and that’s to cover time, logistics, props, and (hopefully) light makeup with a professional makeup artist.

Donations are Gladly Accepted:

If you are unable to model, but want to make sure this turns into a reality, there are several ways you can help! First is to donate directly via Venmo, Paypal, or by joining my Patreon.

When will this be?

Ideally, I’d like to shoot this relatively soon. Sometime between April 12-16, 2023. In the form below, let me know what day will work best for you, and once we have a bit of a consensus, I’ll let everyone know what day works best.
